Security
Your practice runs on trust. Your clients hand you their most sensitive information, their income, their tax file numbers, their financial affairs, and you hand a lot of it to us. We take that seriously.
This page explains, in plain terms, how FINYR protects your data and your clients' data. If anything here is unclear, ask us.
1. Where your data lives
FINYR files your documents and email into your own Google Drive. You own that Drive, and you control who can see it. If you ever leave FINYR, your files stay exactly where they are.
Your practice data, your clients, jobs and lodgements, is held on secure cloud infrastructure located in Australia. We store only what we need to run the features you use.
2. Multi-factor authentication
Every FINYR account uses multi-factor authentication. It is mandatory, not optional. A password on its own will never get someone into your practice, so a stolen or guessed password is not enough to reach your clients' data.
3. Encryption
We encrypt your data in transit and at rest. Anything moving between you and FINYR, and anything we store, is encrypted using current industry standards. That protects your data both on the wire and on disk.
4. A full audit trail
FINYR records every change. Who did what, and when, is logged across your account, so you can always see the full history of a client, a job or a document. If a client or a regulator ever asks what happened, you can show them.
5. Australian data residency
Your data is stored in Australia. It stays onshore in the ordinary course of running your practice, so it sits under Australian law and close to the clients it belongs to.
6. Privacy and compliance
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If a data breach ever put you at risk of serious harm, we would notify you under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information.
7. Report a security issue
If you find a security issue, or you think something is not right, tell us. Email support@finyr.com.au and we will look into it quickly. We would rather hear about a problem early than late.
